Hello and Welcome to Simple Steps to Speaking Success with me, Fran Watson.

My focus is on self help and self development in a number of ways, one of which is developing skills in public speaking, which leads to increased self-confidence in all areas of life.

With increased self-confidence we move forward more easily, share our ideas more often, and expect to be well received by others.  We set ourselves up to be winners!

I have been involved in speaking for over 25 years and am a member of Toastmasters where I earned my DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster) award. One of the roles I particularly enjoy at our Toastmasters club is the Educational Tip.  This is where we share something that will be of benefit to members that is either on theme of the meeting or an educational program from Toastmasters. I believe that the key to being successful is learning and doing.

I created this blog to help people develop their speaking skills.

This blog contains a lot of information about public speaking, overcoming your fears about public speaking, building your vocabulary and more.  I have included articles that I have written and articles that I have found interesting and beneficial.

In Toastmasters I have served in all Executive roles as well as Area Governor (twice) and District Public Relations Officer. I received a plaque in 2015 “For the untiring support and dedication in her service to Division B and particularly Renfrew Toastmasters Club.  Presented in grateful appreciation to a loyal and faithful Club Officer, Founding Member, and long term Club Coach to many in the Ottawa Valley community of Toastmasters”.

During my career of over 25 years I have developed and facilitated a number of career related workshops, as well as stress management and time management workshops.  I have written numerous speeches and articles for the local newspaper.  I also have a chapter in Voices of the 21st Century which was a #1 BestSeller.

Recently I published my book of Poetry.  It is available at Amazon.

I hope that you will enjoy my blog and that you will comment when there is a post that you find particularly useful or if you have any questions that I may be able to answer..

To your speaking success
